Food Analysis #5 Eggs
My Favorite food eggs(x) Chicken Eggs(o)
In the daily reports, I didn’t mention about any amount of food. However, I suddenly realized that I eat too many eggs in a week. Then, I counted that how many egg I eat in a week on last week. The result was shocked me. It was 27 eggs. Eggs are easy to cook and cheap. The actual reason why I choose egg is that it included a lot of protein (I pretty much concern about protein). So, I used to eat 2-3 eggs in a meal without any concerning. However, the number 27 makes me check about all about an egg.
Before I talk about an egg, I have two questions about ‘egg’. Actually, an egg can be any animal’s egg, and it can be a fish egg. I mean that real word ‘egg’ is ‘chicken egg’. Also, most languages have a different name between egg and chicken egg. So, sometimes the word ‘egg’ makes me fun. In addition, why are American eggs white? I know that there are some brown eggs, but you can’t find white eggs in Korea. If you find white an egg in Korea, it definitely is a duck egg. So, I thought that even chickens make white eggs because Americans are white. I know that the idea is ridiculous, but I still curious about white eggs.
In addition, couple of weeks ago, it was Easter. Do you know that why do we eat chicken egg in Easter? The reason is that eggs look like already dead. However, it has a life inside of the egg. So, people of the first generation church thought that rebirth of Jesus could match with eggs. So, they started to celebrate Easter with eggs. Also, before B.C., people used to celebrate starting spring with egg because of the similar reason.
Eggs are well known one of perfect foods which include 5 essential nutrients. Also, it is well known about cholesterol food. About 5 years ago, there was news about egg and cholesterol in Korea. And, it made a big issue that men have to avoid eating eggs because of cholesterol. So, I hoped to check the amount of cholesterol in eggs and to compare daily digestion with daily eating amount of mine. By the way, I found an interesting study from American Health Science Center. They researched for 3 years about eggs. Then, they said that only less than 1% of the people who eat eggs every increased danger of heart diseases. And, irregular eating habits increased 30 to 40% of danger of heart diseases. Also, they said the cholesterol in eggs is HDL cholesterol which is good for our health. In addition, ingredient choline which is one of mixed type of B vitamin protects dementia and hardening. Thus, they show that eggs don’t have any negative affects to people. I think that many people still don’t know real effects of eggs like me. So, I hope that you enjoyed the information and eating eggs.
